Airport safety - 10 Reasons it Needs to heighten

Airport safety is a growing concern for passengers and staff alike.  With population travelling by plane more often than ever before, and a whole safety incidents at airports, it's not surprising that airports are keen to heighten the passenger experience, and the working environment for airport staff and other employees.

1. The whole of passengers is increasing yearly which means that older airports and some of the smaller airports are experiencing strains on their infrastructure.  The airports may not have been designed to cope with whatever like the whole of passengers it is seeing.

2. There are a large whole of employees especially at the bigger, or busier airports.  These comprise flight staff, car park staff, retail staff, and more.  Managing the whereabouts of all these staff, and manufacture sure that they don't entrance areas they are not supposed to, and that the man with the swipe card or entrance code whole is the right person, is not easy.

3. Identifying staff, and using a metal detector, x ray engine and bodily patting by safety staff can also be frustrating for staff who normally need to entrance any dissimilar parts of the airport.

4. This formula is also time entertaining and intrusive, and can make employees feel like they are under suspicion every time they move from one area of the airport to another, as they have to stop and be   physically checked.

5. By using stolen cards or Pin numbers forced out of employees, it is inherent to fool humans and gain entrance means to areas that should not be accessed.

6. Airport safety is currently a very extremely labour intensive job.  Using safety guards to patrol areas, check staff and passengers, and look out for any suspicious activity, makes the cost of airport safety very high.  Introducing modern technology, such as facial recognition and biometrics, can make safety much more cost effective.

7. Technology, such as biometric entrance operate systems, helps the movement of non-passengers from landside to restricted zones, and makes sure that only the authorised population are granted access.

8. Biometrics can also be used to perform a volumetric check, to make sure that only one man at a time is identified.  This ensures that if staff are coerced into gaining entrance for non-authorised staff, the attempt will be unsuccessful.

9. Using new technology will mean that far fewer safety staff needed for staff identification and verification, which allows safety staff to focus on other areas of airport safety that technology can't yet monitor.

10. Improved safety leads to a much quicker and more productive transit straight through the airport.  This means that the airport can supply a much great assistance for passengers, and great working environment for staff.

Now you know more about airport security, and how and why it needs to improve, why not think how some of these measures could make your workplace more productive and more secure?
